Ancient redwoods in the Rockefeller Forest. This is the world's largest contiguous stand of old growth coast redwoods.

Coast redwoods are the world's tallest trees.  The Rockefeller Forest contains 40 of the tallest record holders.

 

Redwoods in Bull Creek State Wilderness.

Within Rockefeller Forest is the Bull Creek State Wilderness, an area of pristine beauty preserved forever.

 

Big Trees Area redwood log face.

This tree fell across the road and had to be cut out, leaving this huge log face alongside the road. It is taller than a five-foot person.
